The former Manchester United player and Looking For Eric star told thelondonpaper that the live element of sport gives it a different dimension.
Cantona said: "It's more intense in sports. Acting is different. It's not live. It's different being in front of the fans.
"In a film set, it's more exciting. The energy when you and your co-stars are together is stronger and excites you even more."
He added: "You can lose your mind, like when you score a goal. You can share it with 60,000 people and you can feel the energy."
