Speaking to reporters at a press conference, the actor explained that he was happy to resurrect the role of Captain Jack as long as fans were interested.
"I love the character so much and I enjoy playing the character so much and people seem to like it, [so] if there's an opportunity to try again..." JoBlo quotes him as saying.
"It's like going up to bat. You want to get back out there and try and try and try and see what you can do. I enjoy playing Captain Jack very much."
Discussing the existing trilogy, he said: "Call me a glutton if you want... virtually no cinema is perfect, so Pirates one had its own thing, two and three, I suppose, had their own thing."
When asked about possible plotlines for a fourth movie, he joked: "At this point I'm trying to turn it into a Beckett play. It could be anything... Jack could be in some geisha clothing. I don't know. We could explore a lot of possibilities."
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer previously admitted that Pirates 4 was a "priority" for Disney and that he hoped original director Gore Verbinski would return to the helm.
