Producer Robert Rodriguez confirmed to Ain't It Cool News that the Vacancy helmer has signed up to make the next instalment in the action franchise.
"We really want to go with a character driven action movie, because that's what we all remember about the original Predator, and we want to take it even further with this," Rodriguez told the website.
He also confirmed that his original 1994 Predators script will be used as a template for the film and that production will take place at his Troublemaker Studios in Texas.
Discussing the storyline for the movie, which will be the fifth to feature the alien hunters, Rodriguez revealed that it "involves a very intense group of people stranded on a Predator planet discovering unspeakable horrors".
Antal's next movie, Armoured, will open later this year.
