Brad Caleb Kane has revealed that he is working on a film based on the popular View-Master toy, reports Coming Soon.

Speaking on Twitter, the Fringe co-producer/writer revealed that he will begin working on the DreamWorks project when he finishes production on sci-fi adventure Uprising.

Kane also confirmed that Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (Star Trek, Transformers) are working on the project. He claimed that the movie will be "like the old '80s Amblin movies: Goonies, Young Sherlock... In that vein."

The View-Master, which was first sold in the 1930s, was a cross between a slide projector and a pair of binoculars. It was first devised as an educational tool, but was also used latterly for entertainment.
