The Star Trek actor has been linked with a role in the Marvel Comic adaptation, following reports that he had attended meetings with the film's creative team and studied the source material at length.
However, according to recent posts on the star's Twitter account, he has now excluded himself from the project.
"I was just preparing stuff. It's a fantastic director, a great piece, but I have absolutely nothing to do with it," he wrote.
Speaking to MTV, Collins Jr confirmed that meetings had taken place, but reiterated that he would not be appearing in the picture. He was also tight-lipped over which character he was in talks to play.
Thor is released in cinemas May 20, 2011.
