Emma Watson: 'I'm not quitting acting'

Harry Potter star Emma Watson has played down reports that she is quitting acting in order to concentrate on her university education.

The actress, who plays Hermione Granger in the franchise, told reporters at a press conference for the sixth instalment that she was hoping to continue acting while studying for a degree in English Literature and Art.

"In August I'm going to university in the states, so I'm very excited and looking forward to a bit of normality, but that does not mean I'm never going to work again or act again," she said.

"I think there has been a lot of confusion in the media that going to university is mutually exclusive and that I can't act and study at the same time. I seem to have managed it okay until this point, so that's what I hope to continue to do.

"Hopefully I'll schedule any work I want to do around the holidays. I think anything is possible really."

Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince is released on July 15.
