'Brüno' dominates UK box office

Brüno has gone straight to the top of the UK box office.

Sacha Baron Cohen's comedy pulls in just over £5 million to knock Ice Age 3 from the chart summit. Brüno's Friday gross is an opening-day record for an 18 certificate movie in the UK, while the total weekend haul shatters the record for an 18-rated comedy.

Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen and The Hangover hold steady at number three and four, with last week's runner-up Public Enemies slipping three places to complete the top five.

Elsewhere, Bollywood film Shortkut - The Con Is On makes its chart debut at number ten.

The UK box office top ten in full:

1. (-) Brüno - £5,000,299
2. (1) Ice Age 3: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs - £4,750,720
3. (3) Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen - £1,449,282
4. (4) The Hangover - £1,228,918
5. (2) Public Enemies - £1,048,359
6. (5) My Sister's Keeper - £675,948
7. (6) Year One - £242,950
8. (8) Night At The Museum 2 - £106,420
9. (7) Kambakkht Ishq - £104,849
10. (-) Shortkut - The Con Is On - £80,488
