Britney Spears reacted in anger after losing out in a movie role to Naomi Watts, according to the Teen Hollywood website.
Spears apparently auditioned three times to star as Jude Law's girlfriend in I Heart Huckabees, but film-maker David O'Russell wasn't convinced that she had the right qualities for the part.
Britney is apparently keen to show Hollywood what she's made of, after the poor box office performance of her film debut, Crossroads.
Russell explained, "Britney wanted Naomi's part and read for me three times. She didn't get it and was very angry."
He added, "I'd love to use her in the right role."
