The story centres on a home-schooled 15-year-old called Laurel who finds it difficult to adjust to high school. Her life is made more complicated when she sprouts wings and discovers that she is a fairy.
Marty Bowen and Wick Godfrey of production firm Temple Hill will produce Wings, with Cyrus's mother Tish on board as an executive producer.
Cyrus recently starred in the big screen spinoff of her Hannah Montana TV show for Disney. She is currently filming The Last Song for the studio.
