'Harry Potter' debuts at top of US box office

The sixth instalment of the Harry Potter franchise has staked its claim at the top of the US box office, knocking last weekend's champ Brüno to the number four spot.
Holding steady are Ice Age 3 at number two with $17.7 million and Transformers 2 in the number three slot, which took $13.7 million over the weekend.
The Hangover rounds out the top five with $8.3 million, meaning that the raunchy comedy, budgeted at $35 million, has profited $200 million in its seventh week in release.
Pixar's Up and Cameron Diaz's My Sister's Keeper have also maintained their respective slots at number eight and nine.
Finally, Hayden Panettiere's teen flick I Love You, Beth Cooper caps off the top ten with a mere $2.6 million.
