'UFO' movie adaptation gets director

The original TV show, which debuted in 1970, revolved around a secret military force called SHADO which was based underneath a Hollywood studio and battled an alien race that was kidnapping and killing humans.
Speaking to Variety, the filmmaker said: "The story, characters and situations Mr Anderson created in UFO are timeless and engaging. My vision is to utilise visual effects as a supportive storytelling device that draws audiences into this universe."
The film, to be set in 2020, was optioned by legendary Hollywood producer Robert Evans and ITV Global, while the script was penned by Ryan Gaudet and Joseph Kanarek.
Gratzner acted as visual effects supervisor on Martin Scorsese's Shutter Island and has previously worked on Iron Man, Hancock and Alien: Resurrection.
