Scarlett Johansson has revealed that she had to endure a strenuous workout for her Iron Man 2 part.

The He’s Just Not That Into You star admitted that the training to fit into a skintight catsuit for her role as Russian spy Black Widow was both arduous and rewarding, People reports.

"I kicked some major butt," she said at Comic-Con. "It was many, many, hours, days and months of stunt training and strength training, but it's fun because I had a goal. The goal was the Lycra catsuit."

The 24-year-old was reportedly happy to be being able to pour herself in to the outfit, adding: "It was crazy to see it for the first time - everything all zipped up and all the weapons in there, bracelets on, the whole look. It was pretty sweet, I have to say".

It was reported earlier that Johansson’s co-star Gwyneth Paltrow had refuted rumours that the actresses were engaged in an on-set rivalry.

Iron Man 2 will be released in cinemas on May 7, 2010.
