Amanda Crew has won a role opposite Zac Efron in supernatural drama Charlie St. Cloud, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The Sex Drive actress has been cast as a woman believed to have been lost in a sailing accident who starts a romance with Efron's cemetery caretaker.

Burr Steers, who directed Efron in 17 Again, will helm Charlie for Universal from his own script. The project is an adaptation of Ben Sherwood's novel The Death And Life Of Charlie St. Cloud.

Efron can next be seen in Orson Welles And Me, which opens in the UK on December 4.
