Lasseter: 'Cars 2 will be a road movie'
Published Thursday, Jul 30 2009, 01:04 BST | By Tim Parks

The original animated picture focused on the adventures of Lightning McQueen (voiced by Owen Wilson), a race car who detours into the small town of Radiator Springs.
Lasseter told Sci-Fi Wire that the first film's entire gang of cars will be heading out on the highway in Cars 2.
He said: "It's Radiator Springs, and then the characters go to other places as well."
The filmmaker also revealed that a decision had not been made whether or not to recast the late Paul Newman's Doc Hudson character, adding: "We haven't really [addressed it yet]. We're still working on that".
Cars 2 is scheduled to open in cinemas in 2011.
