Trio added to 'Battle: Los Angeles'

Michelle Rodriguez, Michael Pena and Bridget Moynahan have joined the cast of sci-fi film Battle: Los Angeles.

The action movie will follow a marine (Aaron Eckhart) who leads his platoon into battle against invading aliens on the streets of LA.

Rodriguez has been cast as Crpl Adriana Santos from the radio battalion, Moynahan will play a veterinarian, while Pena will be the father of a boy the marines discover along the way.

Rodriguez will reteam with producer Neal Moritz (The Fast And The Furious, S.W.A.T) on the project, with Jonathan Liebesman signed up to direct.

Moritz has described the picture as a "huge event movie that can be done at a modest scale".
