The Mean Girls star was recently photographed as the Hollywood screen legend for the cover of Spanish Vogue, while she previously carried out a similar shoot for a 2008 New York magazine pictorial.
The 23-year-old pitched an update of the Oscar-winning 1959 movie, in which Monroe played Sugar Kane Kowalczyk, to director Brett Ratner, who proceeded to reject the idea, Contactmusic reports.
"Lindsay is pinning her hopes on getting a remake of Some Like It Hot off the ground," a source told OK magazine. "She's undaunted, but there's no script and there's no money. The only thing Lindsay has to sell is herself.
"She sees herself as the second coming of Marilyn Monroe - misunderstood, talented and in desperate need of an incredible film vehicle that will truly showcase her talents."
Filmmaker Robert Rodriguez recently revealed that Lohan was considering a part in his new movie Machete.
