Michael Sheen has said that he is "proud" of the films that won him an Actor Of The Year nomination at the Digital Spy Movie Awards.

The Welsh actor appeared as David Frost in Ron Howard's Frost/Nixon and as legendary football manager Brian Clough in The Damned United this year to praise from critics and movie fans.

"I am so happy to be nominated for two films that I am so proud to have been a part of," Sheen told DS. "I feel very honoured. Thank you very much."

Sheen can next be seen playing Aro in Twilight sequel New Moon, opening on November 20.

Voting for the Digital Spy Movie Awards, honouring the best cinema offerings from the past 12 months, is open throughout August. The winners will be announced in October.
