Johansson 'in lead to play Marilyn Monroe'

Scarlett Johansson is reportedly the frontrunner to play Marilyn Monroe in an upcoming biopic.

According to Contactmusic, the 24-year-old actress is said to be the favourite to portray the blonde bombshell in a new film about her visit to London in 1957.

Director Simon Curtis and producer David Parfitt have reportedly ranked Johansson at the top of a list of actresses that are being considered for the film My Week With Marilyn.

Columnist Baz Bamigboye has revealed that Kate Hudson, Amy Adams and Michelle Williams have also been mentioned as potential stars of the film.

My Week With Marilyn will be based on the unpublished excerpts of the diary of Colin Clark.
