Variety reports that Dreamworks has bought the rights to make a movie version of Baywatch. Dreamworks intend to have the movie ready and out by the summer of 2006.
The popular show starred David Hasselhoff as Mitch Bucannon and Pamela Anderson as CJ and graced our screens from 1990 to 2001 and was exported to 142 countries.
It is unclear whether any of the original stars will feature in the movie. Any plotline is also unclear - it may be entirely faithful to the series and not really bother with one.
