Gerard Butler has revealed that he landed his role in The Ugly Truth after impressing the director with his array of rude jokes.
The actor, who stars as a chauvinistic male television star in the romcom, told DS at last night's London premiere that filmmaker Robert Luketic had loved the punchline to his gay cucumber joke.
"I'm much better being in the moment rather than when I'm telling my jokes... I don't think I'd make it as a stand-up comedian! [The joke] wasn't very funny but he just loved the way I said it," he explained.
