J.J. Abrams hires 'M:I 4' writers

J.J. Abrams and Tom Cruise have hired two writers for Mission: Impossible 4.

Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec, who teamed with Abrams on four seasons of his TV series Alias, have been brought in for the project.

The pair's other credits include ABC series Happy Town and the US version of Life On Mars.

"I've been looking forward to working with Josh and Andre again for years," Abrams told Variety. "Their sense of balance between character and action is wonderful, which I know is hugely important to Tom as well. We're off to an exciting start, so, as usual, fingers crossed."

Mission: Impossible 4 is scheduled for release n 2011 and will see Tom Cruise return to his role as Ethan Hunt.
