The 24-year-old actress, who played Sharpay Evans in the Disney franchise, told PA that she has always been a huge fan of Roberts.
"My Best Friend's Wedding was a big movie for me - Julia Roberts is what made me go, 'I want to do movies for sure'," she explained.
"I grew up in the business since I was three years old so I've always kind of been in front of the camera and grew up in commercials and I knew that I wanted to do it no matter what, I just loved it."
Tisdale's latest movie Aliens In The Attic is released this week.
