Helms, who found fame on The Daily Show and The Office, will play an accountant who ends up in the world of "international espionage" after meeting up with an old friend on Facebook.
Ike Barinholtz and Dave Stassen have penned the script.
Helms's other upcoming projects include Alexander Payne's comedy Cedar Rapids and a sequel to The Hangover, which is scheduled to begin shooting in autumn 2010.
