Speaking to DS about the film's nominations in the Blockbuster Of The Year and Best Movie Marketing categories, the Watchmen co-creator commented: "I'm absolutely thrilled about that. I'm really pleased that people think so highly of it and I keep my fingers crossed for a good outcome."
Gibbons added that he had been particularly impressed with the movie's marketing campaign, which ranged from online viral video to displaying a projection of superhero character Dr Manhattan on the River Thames.
"I think the marketing has been absolutely amazing for this movie," he remarked. "We've been very lucky that, at every level, the people involved have been huge fans of the book and I think everybody has given it their best shot to come up with some super-imaginative ideas. I'm very grateful to those people and think that they really do deserve an award."
