The radioactive prehistoric creature was first introduced to audiences in 1954 Japanese film Gojira, while the character was featured in 28 pictures until 2004's Godzilla: Final Wars.
Legendary Pictures is in early discussions to reboot the monster movie franchise, according to Bloody Disgusting.
However, 2012 director Roland Emmerich apparently said that he has no plans to helm a sequel to his 1998 update, which starred Matthew Broderick.
In 2004, the fire-breathing lizard received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the creature.
