The actress recently completed filming the upcoming action movie, due for release around May 2010, and was "not friendly" to any of the cast and crew, according to FOX411.
A source admitted that some crewmembers hoped that her character would be recast - or even killed off - but are now resigned to the fact that she will remain in the role of Pepper Potts should a third film be commissioned.
The insider said: "Gwyneth is extremely cool at work. She's just a step above professional, too snobby. Gwyneth is not friendly to anyone, and tends to make people feel awkward and uncomfortable.
"She wasn't outright rude to Scarlett [Johansson], she just didn't ever speak to her. Gwyneth went out of her way to avoid Scarlett, and they had zero contact, at Gwyneth's choosing."
