Grint: 'I'd love to play a baddie'

Rupert Grint has announced that he is keen to play a villain after he completes work on the Harry Potter movies.

The 21-year-old actor confirmed that he wants his next big role to be as far removed from schoolboy wizard Ron Weasley as possible.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, he explained: "I have always played the good guys so far.

"I'd love to play a baddie and maybe beat some people up - do something different. I'm definitely a character actor."

Grint added that he would like to land theatre projects in the future but currently feels too inexperienced for a high-profile role on stage.

He commented: "I would love to do some theatre but I've really only done school plays."

The star is currently filming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which will be released in two parts in 2010 and 2011 respectively.
