Joan Jett has reportedly sued an ex-bandmate over upcoming biopic The Runaways.

The 'I Love Rock 'N Roll' singer has filed a lawsuit against a former bassist of the '70s all-female group, who are the subject of a movie starring Kristen Stewart as Jett and Dakota Fanning as singer-keyboardist Cherie Currie.

Jacqueline Fuchs (also known as Jackie Fox), who played with the band from 1975 to 1977, has tried to halt production on the movie, according to the New York Post.

"Fuchs tried to have the film halted and has demanded to see the script, even though there is no character based on her," legal documents filed by Jett in Manhattan Supreme Court reveal.

"It's been an ongoing fight," said Jett's lawyer Oren Warshavsky. "With the movie coming out soon, we need to resolve this once and for all."

Meanwhile, Fuchs commented: "I'm saddened that she has chosen to handle things this way instead of accepting my invitation to pick up the phone and talk to me about any differences that we may have."

The Runaways, which also included guitarist Lita Ford and drummer Sandy West, were known for their songs 'Cherry Bomb' and 'Queens Of Noise'. The group disbanded in 1979.

The feature film depicting their rise to fame is being directed by Floria Sigismondi.
