Elizabeth Banks to lead 'Three Days'

Elizabeth Banks is to take a starring role in Paul Haggis's The Next Three Days, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Scrubs and W actress will play Laura, a woman who claims that she has been falsely imprisoned for murder. Last month, Russell Crowe was cast as her husband, who is desperate to ensure her release.

The suspense drama is a remake of Fred Cavaye's 2009 French thriller Pour Elle.

Shooting is expected to start in September.

Banks's other upcoming projects include Tobey Maguire comedy The Details.
