The movie revolves around a bank manager (Rebecca Hall), a criminal (Affleck) and the FBI agent (Jon Hamm) trying to track down the robber. Lively will play the troubled ex-girlfriend of Affleck's character.
The Hurt Locker's Jeremy Renner is also among the cast, while Chris Cooper is in talks to come on board as Affleck's father.
The movie, based on Chuck Hogan's novel Prince Of Thieves, is Affleck's first film as a director since last year's Gone Baby Gone.
