
The fourth instalment of the Final Destination franchise has debuted at the top of the US box office with $28.3 million over the weekend.
Quentin Tarantino's WWII film Inglourious Basterds has been bumped to the number two position with $20 million.
The second debut this week lands at number three from Rob Zombie with his remake of Halloween 2, which grossed $17.4 million.
Appearing at number four is District 9 with $10.7 million, G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra has dropped to the number five spot with $8 million, while Meryl Streep's Julie & Julia is at number six with $7.4 million.
The third debut this week is Ang Lee's 1969-set comedy Taking Woodstock with $3.7 million.
