The 44-year-old actress was spotted as her fashionista character Carrie Bradshaw wearing a white dress, gold Christian Louboutin heels and a Chanel clutch while filming a scene in New York City, Us Weekly reports.
The shot involved several takes of her leaving the upscale apartment building that she and Mr Big (Chris Noth) purchased and sold in the first film, though co-stars Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon were not on set during the day's shooting.
"She comes out as Carrie Bradshaw, puts on her sunglasses, looks around and starts walking," an onlooker told the publication. "She looks pretty happy to be back at work."
It was reported earlier that the United Arab Emirates had banned filming of scenes in Dubai for the follow-up, while a source added that a proposed plotline is to include Big taking a job overseas due to the recession.
Parker recently declined to drop any hints as to what may transpire for her character in the update.
The second instalment will debut in cinemas on May 28, 2010.
