According to the New York Daily News, fans of the hit franchise began arriving at the film's set from around 7am on Tuesday, the first day of production.
"At one point, teenage girls were practically trampling each other trying to get to Sarah Jessica [Parker] as she was walking back to her trailer, but her security team was shoving everyone out of the way," claimed one source.
Parker, who plays writer Carrie Bradshaw, is alleged to have "looked upset and extremely concerned" by the commotion and reportedly asked her security guards not to harm any of the fans.
The insider added that similar scenes occurred yesterday morning when co-star Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbs) was allegedly forced to abandon a scene because of over-enthusiastic onlookers.
"People were screaming and trying to push past guards. The fans were just too much. Security looked legitimately concerned for her safety."
Sex And The City 2 will arrive in cinemas on May 28, 2010.
