Adam Fierro and Glen Mazzara were hired to pen the sequel earlier this summer, but it was not confirmed whether any of the original cast would be involved.
However, speaking to MTV, Berg said: "Everybody's going to come back for the sequel."
He also revealed that he already has someone in mind to play a third immortal god alongside Smith and Theron's characters. "I'm not gonna tell you who, but we have!" he said.
Hancock, which took in more than $600 million at the worldwide box office, centred on a down-and-out crimefighter whose image is overhauled by a PR guru.
