A Twilight screenwriter has told fans to leave Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson alone.

The pair have recently faced numerous rumours that they are dating.

However, screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg said that they deserve to have a private life.

"Their chemistry on film is so extraordinary," she told E! Online. "They were beautifully cast for those roles and their chemistry is amazing.

"I think people often confuse chemistry on-screen with chemistry off-screen."

She continued: "I think people should just enjoy what's on-screen and leave their private lives wherever they are. I don't actually know what they are."

Reports recently suggested that Pattinson and Stewart have been told to hide their romance.
