Darren Aronofsky has signed up to direct a movie based on the £53 million ($85 million) heist at Tonbridge's Securitas Depot, reports Variety.
The Wrestler helmer will also produce the independent project, which Kerry Williamson is writing based on Jon Wertheim's Sports Illustrated article 'Breaking The Bank' and Howard Sounes's book Heist: The Inside Story Of The World's Biggest Robber.
The movie is inspired by the 2006 armed robbery of a Kent depot, which resulted in convictions in 2008 for Emir Hysenaj, Lea Rusha, Jetmir Bucpapa, Stuart Royle and Roger Coutts.
Aronofsky, the director behind Requiem For A Dream and The Fountain, is currently working on ballet drama Black Swan with Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis.
