The fantasy-adventure will be produced by New Line and Legendary Pictures through Neal Mortiz's Original Film banner.
The project has not been given a start date at present.
Singer recently attached himself to helm a Battlestar Galactica film for Universal. He has also been linked to a remake of 1981 movie Excalibur for Warner Brothers.
