Writing on his Twitter page, the tycoon revealed that he and the Oscar-winning screenwriter could collaborate on the biopic.
"Meeting with Diablo Cody to talk about the Brian Grazer Playboy film today," he said.
Robert Downey Jr will star as Hefner in the project, which Brett Ratner is directing for producer Grazer (Angels & Demons).
Cody's next film, Jennifer's Body, is out in the UK on November 6.
