Jackman in talks for robot boxing movie

Hugh Jackman is in talks to star in futuristic boxing movie Real Steel, reports Variety.

The project, to be produced by Steven Spielberg and directed by Shawn Levy, centres on a father and son training a humanoid robot to fight in the ring after boxing is outlawed for being too violent.

John Gatins is penning the script with studio DreamWorks targeting a May production start.

Levy recently helmed Night At The Museum 2 and will release Date Night with Steve Carell and Tina Fey next April.
