John Turturro, who starred in the original film, recently hinted that a sequel might be made.
However, the Coens told MTV News that they will not be involved with the film.
"We don't see it yet," Ethan explained, while Joel added: "That movie has more of an enduring fascination for other people than it does for us."
The duo said that they had approached Turturro about a sequel to Barton Fink called Old Fink.
"That's one that would actually be fun to do," Joel said. "We told Turturro this is one sequel we'd actually like to make, but not until he was actually old enough to play the part."
