Exclusive: Stuart Hazeldine gives 'Tripods' update

Published Friday, Oct 9 2009, 10:00 BST | By Simon Reynolds
While doing the press rounds for his directorial debut Exam, Stuart Hazeldine spoke to DS about working with Alex Proyas to shape a movie based on John Christopher's Tripods novels and the cult '80s BBC show. The latest news on the project is that the script for The White Mountain, the first of the Tripods trilogy, is done and Proyas and Hazeldine are involved in budget discussions at the moment (District 9 has been mentioned as an example of a good sci-fi film made for a reasonable price).
