Wahlberg signs for 'Reykjavik-Rotterdam'

Mark Wahlberg has signed up to star in Working Title's remake of Icelandic thriller Reykavick-Rotterdam, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The project, which will be scripted by Aaron Guzikowski (Prisoners), will be helmed by Baltasar Kormakur, who starred in the original.

Reykavick tells the story of a security guard and ex-alcohol smuggler who is tempted back to his criminal past when money proves hard to come by. The Oskar Jonasson-directed original is Iceland's nomination for the foreign-language Oscar this year.

Wahlberg's other upcoming movies include Will Ferrell comedy The Other Guys and the Shawn Levy-directed Date Night.
