Carey Mulligan: 'I love Oliver Stone'

Carey Mulligan has said that she loved Oliver Stone after working with him on Wall Street 2.

The actress told Parade that she was initially scared about collaborating with the renowned director on the sequel to his 1987 hit movie.

Mulligan said: "Oliver is infamous and I was terrified, but that's kind of why I did Wall Street 2, because I thought it would be a bit of a trip. Actually, I love him and I think he's brilliant.

"It's been a real challenge because I'm playing an American and I'm playing an adult, which is rare. The toughest thing about being the Upper East Side girl who is Gordon Gekko's daughter was getting the accent right."

Regarding acting for Stone, she added: "It doesn't matter what you feel - ultimately, it's what the audience feels. You can finish a scene and think to yourself, 'Oh, God. I was so deep in that moment,' and find it just didn't play.

"I don't know if I have very good radar about that or not, which is why I need people like Oliver to go, 'that was good' or 'that was rubbish'. I get happy when my boss compliments me. So when Oliver tells me I'm good, I'm pretty happy."
