Closer star Natalie Portman is in talks to star in an upcoming futuristic thriller.

Variety reports that Portman, who played Senator Padme Amidala in Star Wars Episode 2: Attack of the Clones, is set to appear in V For Vendetta, a Warner Bros project produced by the Wachowski brothers (The Matrix).

The movie is based upon an Alan Moore graphic novel and will be directed by James McTeigue. It is set in an England thrown into a totalitarian state after a devastating war.
