Serafinowicz 'startled by giant cockroach'

Couples Retreat star Peter Serafinowicz has admitted to being startled by a cockroach while making the comedy in Bora Bora.

Speaking to DS, the Brit actor said that he mistook a giant insect for a shoe while making the comedy on the French Polynesia island.

He explained: "About two weeks in I was looking at the floor and thinking, 'I don't remember owning a pair of brogues'. I saw this shoe on the floor, then the shoe suddenly appeared in another part of a room.

"It wasn't a brogue, it was a massive cockroach! You call them water bugs, they sound Disneyesque, this looked like a loafer! They moved so fast it looked like they dematerialised."

Couples Retreat, starring Vince Vaughn, Jon Favreau, Jason Bateman, Malin Akerman, Kristin Davis and Kristin Bell, opens in the UK tomorrow.
