The Wolverine actor will play a "jilted lover who must disguise himself as a woman" to win back his ex, according to Variety.
Allan Loeb, whose recent credits include Jennifer Aniston's The Baster and Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps, will pen the script.
Reynolds will begin work on the project after he has finished shooting DC Comics adaptation Green Lantern. He is also attached to star in Jon Cassar thriller Motorcade.
