Heard, Meester are 'Cowgirl Bandits'

Amber Heard and Leighton Meester will lead the cast of drama Cowgirl Bandits, reports Production Weekly.

Jess Manafort (The Beautiful Ordinary) will direct the movie, which is described as being based on Ridley Scott's 1991 film Thelma & Louise starring Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis.

The project will see the actresses play two young women who flee their lives and go on a road trip across America.

Heard recently appeared in Zombieland and can next be seen with Johnny Depp in The Rum Diary. Meester is one of the stars of The CW series Gossip Girl.
