Little Fockers, the third instalment in the comedy franchise, follows the tribulations of Greg Focker (Stiller) as he attempts to raise twins with his wife Pam (Teri Polo). Robert De Niro will return as the concerned father-in-law Jack Byrnes.
Dern will play the headmistress at the Focker children's school.
Blythe Danner, Owen Wilson and Jessica Alba are also confirmed for the project, which is scheduled for release in July 2010.
