The filmmaker made the allegation while promoting Terminator Salvation over the summer. However, Murray has now hit back at the director, accusing him of fabricating the story.
"That's bulls**t! That's complete crap!" said Murray in an interview with The Times. "I don't know why he made that story up. He has a very active imagination."
The actor continued: "No! He deserves to die. He should be pierced with a lance, not headbutted."
Murray's next film Fantastic Mr Fox, in which he voices the character Badger, is out in UK cinemas on October 23.
