The story surfaced after Ain't It Cool News reported on a forthcoming interview with actor Matthias Schweighöfer in GQ.
Allegedly Schweighöfer claimed that he was in the running to appear in the film alongside Law and Robert De Niro.
Gossip Cop added that it could find no evidence that De Niro is connected to the film.
Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman have been confirmed to star in Thor, which is due to be released in May 2011.
